Red silk page ribbon bound in. Marbled endpapers. 8vo - 422, (1) pp. Top edge gilt. Two title pages - the first is decorated with an engraving of a moonlit scene with another engraved frontispiece showing the interior of a pub. Both of these pages show foxing. The secod title page is text only and shows only faint foxing. Cupples was Scottish author and journalist who wrote mainly seafaring novels. The endpapers are new. The book is very square and solid. Now quite scarce.
