London: Ward, Lock & Co., (1891). First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine. Completely rebound in a style that beautifully mimics the original binding. Copies with the original binding rarely show up as they are extremely fragile. Wilde's only novel and now very scarce. This is the first edition, first issue with the letter "a" dropped from "(a)nd" on the eighth line from the bottom of page 208. A very clean, bright and solid copy of this masterpiece and perhaps Wilde's most famous work. Small "Anderson" sale label remant affixed to a front binder's blank. The pages are toned along the edges. An excellent copy. Listed in Bleiler. Reference - Stuart Marsh - #328.
