The Life Of Charlotte Bronte

London: Dent, Everyman's Library, (1966). Hardcover. Fine / Near Fine. Original green cloth, lettered in gilt to the spine. In a very nice example of the dust jacket. The first and certainly most influential biography of Charlotte Bronte. All other scholars owe a huge debt to Mrs. Gaskell. This copy has the book-plate of renowned author Barbara Mertz who wrote as Elizabeth Peters. A "June 1968" notation to the half title almost certainly in her hand. A clean, bright and solid copy with an excellent provenance.
