A lovely copy of the first edition but a later and corrected copy. 12mo - [iv], 154 pages with two page publisher's catalogue at the rear. Also, bound in at the rear are the original yellow wrappers. Now beautifully bound by Riviere & Son with their stamped name to the foot of the inner front panel at the dentelle. Bound in bright blue crushed morocco with multiple concentric gold borders with gold blossoms at the inner corners. There are more gold borders to the interior boards with lovely silk moirÈ doublures and endpapers. Top edge gilt, remaining edges untrimmed. Bookplate to front fly. Interior hinges showing some wear but the book remains very strong. Two short tears to front endpaper. A really lovely copy of this very early Tennyson collection.
