London: John Hamilton, (1939). Hardcover. Near Fine / Near Fine. Original blue cloth, lettered in black to the spine. 8vo - 222 pp, 2 pp of publisher's ads to the rear. The book is clean, bright and solid with a slight closed nick at the head-piece. Internally the book is very clean and solid. All corners are true. The colorful dust jacket is very bright with no wear. A lovely copy in all respects. 3/6 price to the flap. Page vii indicates the location of four illustrations. There are no illustrations and I'm beginning to wonder if there ever were illustrations. This book was definitely printed without illustrations - which is to say - there is no indication that anything has been removed. This could be a "cheap edition" evidenced by the lack of illustrations and the 3/6 price or - this being a book by John Hamilton - not the most diligent of publishers - they just got it wrong. It is good looking.
