The dust jacket has creasing along the bottom edge and a closed tear at the head of the spine. There is some chipping with loss at the foot of the spine. Cover art, I believe, by C. Farrow. The jacket is not price-clipped. A man returns from World War I disfigured, and uses a mask to hide his "altered features" from the world. His family plots his death.
