There is a very shallow tear to the foot of the spine-cap. A previous owner book-plate to the front free endpaper. The dust jacket has been price-clipped and shows soiling and some closed tears. A World War II era novel, set in a small English town with a military encampment nearby which is repeatedly bombed - in spite of the black-outs. A spy is suspected and Scotland Yard sends in a man.
