New York: Pellegrini & Cudahy, (1951). First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine / Very Good. Original blue cloth, with lettering and decoeration in gold to the spine. Edited, with an Introduction, by Frederick J. Pohl. With a frontispiece and map. In a bright and lovely example of the dust jacket. There is some minor chipping at the head of the spine. This volume comes from the collection of acclaimed aviator, sailer, and adventurer, Steve Fossett. After his untimely death in 2007, his vast collection of travel and exploration books was placed at auction. This volume had Mr. Fossett's book-plate but it has sadly fallen out and been lost. I know this is from the collection but can no longer prove it. That's a pity. This is a very clean, bright and solid copy of the book.
