Original burgundy cloth with full color paste-down illustration identical to that of the dust jacket and lettered in gilt to the spine. The book appears fine - bright and solid. The extremely rare dust jacket shows some minor chipping to the spine ends and also a few very shallow closed tears. Gladys Edson Locke, was an American author of mystery novels set in England. The Purple Mist is a gothic murder mystery set amongst the lonely moors surrounding Craghaven Castle. Very rare at all, but with the jacket, even more so. Listed in Hubin.
