New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1930. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine / Good. Quarto edition bound in original blue cloth, lettered in gold to the front panel and spine. With 26 photographic plates, map endpapers and many in-text illustrations. The book is very clean, bright and solid. The dust jacket has received some repair work which does not look professional to my eye but is honestly an improvement over what used to exist. This volume comes from the collection of acclaimed aviator, sailer, and adventurer, Steve Fossett. After his untimely death in 2007, his vast collection of travel and exploration books was placed at auction. This volume has Steve Fossett's book-plate on the front paste-down. A very nice copy indeed.
