The spine has six compartments and a deep red leather title label, lettered in gold. A very solid and attractive copy. The blank endpages are foxed as is the illustrated frontispiece. Internally there is very little foxing. 326 pp. Marbled endpapers. This volume comes from the collection of acclaimed aviator, sailor, and adventurer, Steve Fossett. After his untimely death in 2007, his vast collection of travel and exploration books was placed at auction. This volume has Steve Fossett's book-plate on the front free endpaper. Typically his book-plates were affixed to the front paste-down but this volume already has a book-plate - an Armorial bookplate from the Swinburne Baronetcy. This is a superb copy.
