New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, (1891). Hardcover. Fine. With original dark tan cloth, with lettering in cream and brown. Decorations are in cream, black, and brown. With six pages of illustrations by W. H. Overend. With 32 pages of ads to the rear. An extremely clean, bright, and solid copy. This book honestly appears unopened and unread. As tight and clean a copy as one could hope to find. This title page has the Blackie statement above the Scribner statement at the foot of the title page. The Scribner/Welford is the first true US edition but I do believe based on the books listed at the rear of this book's catalogue section that this is first of the Blackie/Scribner issues or at least very very early. Dartt - pp. 36-37; 1971 ed.
