London: The Bodley Head, (1931). First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine / Very Good. Original orange cloth. A very clean, bright and solid copy of the book. The dust jacket has a price of 3/6 to the spine so this is a likely reduced price copy of the original first. The jacket is price-clipped at the flap to avoid confusion. There is a very nice signed presentation inscription from the author, dated 1932. He jokingly refers to this copy as "Number one of a Special Limited Edition." Lovely Bip Pares jacket are. Some minor chipping, rubbing, closed tears and an "accordian" tear to the front panel. Still, a lovely copy of this English thriller, spy novel.
