Spines with six compartments, all heavily decorated in gilt, with author label in red with gilt lettering and title label in black with gilt lettering. All edges marbled. All eight volumes with the bookseller sticker of J. F. Dunn, Ludgate Hill, London, affixed to the rear paste-down. All volumes in good or better condition. The leather is solid with hinges strong. Internally there are some tender hinges but overall the volumes are solid. All of the corners show some wear with rubbing and abrasions.
