London: Faber & Faber, (1955). First edition. Hardcover. Fine / Fine. A clean, bright and pleasing copy of this, the author's first book. Aldiss went on to become one of the most important authors of science and speculative fiction. A lovely example of this volume. In early University days Aldiss worked at a used bookshop in Oxford. This work, originally issued in several magazine articles, recounts those experiences. If you have ever loved an old bookshop then this charming brilliant novel is for you. The nicest copy I have seen.
