Stories Of New Jersey. Its Significant Places, People And Activities

New York: M. Barrows And Company, 1938. First edition. Hardcover. Good / Good. In original yellow cloth binding, with lettering and state map stamped in blue. Octavo, xiii, 422pp. Compiled and Written by the Federal Writers' Project of the Works Progress Administration for the State of New Jersey. Profusely illustrated with two in-text maps. This copy has what Scharf & Schoyer state is the second issue because the copyright page does not have the Union logo present but rather the Rademaekers mention. They speculate that this change was made in order to handle the distribution of the book to non-commercial outlets, such as libraries or schools. In any case, this copy is a little dull, the yellow not as bright as issued. There is a previous owner name and address to the front paste-down. The jacket is also a little dull, with some minor chipping and rubbing. Scharf & Schoyer, # 381 and # 383. Dykes, # 201.
