Golden Book Of Songs & Ballads

London: Hodder and Stoughton, (1915) circa. Hardcover. Near Fine. Quarto volume now beautifully re-bound by Stikeman in full dark green morocco with elaborately decorated and ruled boards. Ms. Eleanor Forestcue-Brickman collected the Songs and Ballads and executed 24 beautifull full color tipped-in plates - each protected by a tissue guard. She was a highly regarded artist emphasing her interest in the Pre-Raphaelite movement. All edges gilt. The external hinges have been professional strengthened. The original marbled slip-case is present and has received some strengthening as well. Internally quite clean and pleasing with none of the commonly found foxing. Stamped-signed by Stikeman on the rear interior board. A lovely copy.
