The Colfax Book-Plate

New York: The Century Company, (1926). First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine / Very Good. Bound in original orange ribbed cloth and lettered in black to the spine. The front panel has paste-down image of the book-plate, the same image that adorns the dust jacket. The top edge of the text-block is a little dusty but beyond that the book is in exceptionally fine condition. The complete and bright dust jacket has some creasings which leads me to believe that the jacket was stored away at some point. The book is a delight, an enterprising book clerk, Constance Fuller, goes to work one day at Darrow's Book Store, located on Fourth Avenue in Manhattan. A customer is murdered in the aisles. There seems to be a large amount of interest in a recently acquired book containing a Book-Plate designed by Colfax. Great stuff if you love Bibliomysteries. This is a very nice copy indeed. Listed in Penzler, p. 102.

Price: $1,100.00
