London: Hutchinson, (1934). First edition. Hardcover. Very Good / very good. Bound in original blue-green cloth, lettered in black on the front panel and the spine. In the complete and very dramatic dust jacket. Some minor edge-wear and rubbing to the jacket. Two small tape repairs to the verso. The author's final work, which the publisher's make very obvious. A curiously violent mystery - nothing cozy about this book - a serial killer who goes about his business first for monetary gain then later because he simply enjoys it. A Scotland Yard sleuth is hard on his trail but the body count is high. Some references to Christina Rossetti and her "Goblin Market."
