In early and probable original full green leather bindings with blind stamped raised arabesque cartouche designs and gilt borders. Five compartments to each spine with black labels and gilt lettering. Two 16mo volumes. aeg. Marbled endpapers. Two very attractive fore-edge paintings: Volume I has an image of Burn's birthplace while Volume II has an image of the harbor at Ayot. Each volume with the bookplate of the great artist John Singer Sargent. The bookplates have been verified through the Frick Fine Arts Museum at the University of Pittsburgh. The spines have faded from green to brown. Housed in a custom cloth slip-case. The binding is unattributed. A lovely and absolutely unique set.
