This volume is dedicated to Father Dvornik on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday and his essay is printed first. Other contributers are: Dimitri Obolensky, Ihor Sevcenko, Hugh McLean and Albert B. Lord, to mention only a few. This volume is warmly inscribed by Father Dvornik to Mr. and Mrs. Bliss of Dumbarton Oaks, on the front free endpaper, and dated in the year of publication. Also laid in is a full page handwritten letter from Father Dvornik to Mr. and Mrs. Bliss, also dated in 1954. The book is very clean, bright and solid and the dust jacket is complete. A fine copy in all respects.
