London: Jonathan Cape, (1923). Leather Bound. Very Good. Two quarto volumes bound in full deep green with lettering and ornamentation in gilt. The spine is heavily decorated with six compartments, and title in gilt on a red background and the author and volume information in gilt on a black background. The remainder is in the same green with gilt ornaments. Illustrated with 36 full page full color illustrations by Russell Flint. A prize binding issue with award information on the front paste-down and front free endpaper. Decorated inner dentelles. All edges gilt. The nicest and most elaborate prize binding I have seen. Some marks to the leather, minor stains and scratches but the overall effect is still very lovely indeed.
