Tarzana: Edgar Rice Burroughs, 1947. First edition. Fine / Fine. A lovely copy with an interesting twist. Fine blue pebbled cloth lettered in orange. First Edition so stated on the copyright page. With a slip of paper laid in which states, and I paraphrase, that this book is one of the few survivors of a fire that occurred on May 3, 1958, at the warehouse in Tarzana. Old Tarzan films ignited spontaneously and quite a bit of damage ensued. This copy shows very minor evidence of this fire. The top edge, stained red, has some soot damage, though there is no odor. The front board, if you tilt it just right, also shows extremely faint evidence of a black soot mark. A lovely and unusual copy.
