All three are first editions - the work being planned over this time span. Volume 1 is 666 pp; Volume 2 is 621 pp with 2 pages of ads; Volume 3 is 457 pages, including Index and then 3 pages of ads. All edges beveled. 21 full page color chromolithographs, 6 large fold-out plates and 63 full page wood plates, many of those wood engravings. Besides that there are hundreds of smaller in-text illustrations throughout the set. This is an amazing clean, bright and brilliant set. There is some very minor occasional foxing, else perfect. The hinges are strong. The books are straight and tight and the chromolithographs are brilliant. This set is very scarce in any condition. This edition is near perfect and as nice a set as one could ever hope to find.
