Spine with seven compartments, lettered in gilt with gilt rules and fleur-de-lis ornaments. This edition, translated and revised by Edmund Gibson, is not dated but was published near 1730. Gibson's first edition was issued in 1695 with Morden's maps on what is now commonly called "thin paper" . The second Gibson edition was published in 1722. This Edition, states "Second Edition" on the title page but, in fact, falls between the 1722 and 1753 editions. Contains 51 maps; three national maps, one a contemporary map of Great Britain and two Historical maps of the Roman and Anglo-Saxon eras. In the body of the book are Forty four County maps, two maps of Scotland, one map of Ireland and a map of the smaller islands. The maps are the work of Robert Morden with a few by Andrew Johnstone. Engraved frontispiece of William Camden by R. White. Title page lettered in black and red. This set is in excellent shape with only occasional foxing. The maps are extremely clean and bright with all margins present.
