The cat and mouse game of the criminals and retired detective Larose is quite compelling. This book also qualifies as a bibliomystery as much of the plot is propelled from information gathered from stolen ancient volumes. We even have to endure the truely horrific desecration of an old volume from a rare book room. The horror! The dust jacket is bright and quite lovely with a signature of sorts, a compound letter - blending P and T I think. Small discreet previous owner signature to the front free endpaper.
