Mr. Pottermack's Oversight

New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1930. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine / Near Fine. Original deep red cloth, lettered in black. Decorated endpapers. A very clean, bright and attractive copy of this Dr. Thorndyke mystery. The four corners of the flaps are bevel cut which I presumed to be an effort to account for a price-clip. The problem is that the facsimile jacket without the cuts also does not show a price. In any case this jacket, with compelling art by Juan Oliver, is bright and quite lovely. A wonderful Golden Age mystery where the murderer is quite sympathetic creating an unusual and compassionate conclusion. Hubin listed.

Price: $425.00
